Pandemic stress is showing up in the dental chair!!! Dentists are finding more jaw pain, headaches and damage to teeth because of bruxism as people deal with the stress of the pandemic. Broken teeth are on the rise! We advise custom guards for nighttime and to be aware of bruxism/clenching even during the day. Give us a call if you need the protection of a guard!!!

Love seeing my young patients!!!

I knew at 17!

Flossing must be done daily to break up plaque below the gum line which forms every 24 hours.
We are seeing many patients for the first time in over a year due to the pandemic which closed offices in March-June. It's so important to get your teeth professionally cleaned. Make an appointment if you are overdue to maintain your oral health! 😁

Dentists are noticing more grinding and clenching of people's teeth due to the stresses of the pandemic now. This is a damaging habit. It can cause breaking, wear and sensitivity of your teeth. It can cause masseter (cheek) muscle spasms, TMJ (joint in front of your ear) issues, neck and shoulder pain and headaches. You want to watch for this habit during the day and control it but at night, we recommend guards. We make custom fitting guards which are more comfortable and better at dealing with this destructive habit.

Gia is demonstrating how NOT to wear a mask!

Happy Halloween!!! Don't forget to brush your teeth after having some sweets!!!! πŸŽƒ

Hope everyone has an AMAZING Labor day weekend!!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!

Phase 2 of the Governor's plan has allowed dental offices to resume needed dental care and hygienist recall visits. Cosmetic treatment is still deferred. We have to deliver care with reduced patient volume to allow social distancing.
We are wearing more PPE, sanitizing our public spaces throughout the day, have air purifiers with HEPA filters in each operatory, and continue with good infection control practices.
We have many appointments to reschedule which we are starting to do. If you would like an appointment, feel free to call to expedite this process!! 😷😷😷😷

[06/04/20]   Dental offices await the Governor's decision to see if Massachusetts will be going into Phase 2 which we believe will allow routine dental services. This decision is suppose to be announced Saturday June 6. Unfortunately, this short notice will prevent us from opening on June 8 as we had hoped. If the Governor allows Phase 2, we will reopen on Tuesday June 9. We will be calling our patients to confirm for Tuesday and will start the rescheduling process. Please check our website for further information. We look forward to seeing our patients as soon as possible!!! 😷😷😷

As we prepare to open.....

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there....and the "Mom" title has been earned by many different people who help and look out for a child. Even though we can't all be together during these trying times, we all look forward to the family hugs we will share in hopefully the near future. πŸ’š
I have been blessed with my son..... and oh yes, I take care of his teeth !!! 😁

[05/05/20]   I am pushing back our reopening date to June 1, 2020 for routine dental care. I have had conversations with my staff and am following the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and listening to our state government for guidance. One of our biggest problems in the dental field is getting needed Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Of course, PPE was directed to the frontlines and manufacturing couldn't keep up with the demand. We are slowly starting to get some items. My office is still open for dental emergencies. We will get in touch with patients who have appointments through June 1 at a later date.
Stay well and I look forward to seeing your smiles!!!

Today would've been the true date for the 10th and final 5k Run/Walk for Kim Forte sponsored by We're One Wilmington. Due to the pandemic, it became a "virtual" event. It was suggested registrants run/walk a 5k wherever they wanted to and post it. I did mine April 23. I usually did this with different staff members over the years especially Lynne. This was my post to We're One Wilmington.

We are being advised again to push back our reopening date until May 18 for routine dental care. True emergencies will still be seen. Hoping everyone is staying well!!! At least, my yard is looking to find a bright spot! 😷😷😷

Something I like to do....and hope you can too in these trying times!! Stay well!!!!

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have extended our temporary dental office closure through May 4, 2020. We are being guided by the CDC, Mass Dental Society, the govenor and the White House. These are trying times for all but we can only hope continued social distancing will be the key to turning this situation around. Emergency services are still available for my patients. I can be reached by calling my office. Please stay well and hope to see your smiling faces soon!!! πŸ˜πŸ’›

[03/17/20]   Notification of temporary closure

Dear patients,

Dr. Edgerly and her staff are committed to providing exceptional dental care while keeping you and ourselves safe. We are continuously monitoring the Coronavirus situation with guidance from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and local authorities like the Massachusetts Dental Society.

At this time we have decided with much direction from the Massachusetts Dental Society to temporarily close until April 7th. This temporary closure will help with recommended social distancing. If you have an appointment scheduled through April 6th, we will contact you to reschedule.

In case of a dental emergency, please call the office and leave a message or call Dr. Edgerly’s cell phone. We will be in touch to help you in the care that you will need. The answering machine will be on as always for any questions you have. This is a challenging decision for our office but we believe it is in the best interest of our patients, staff and their families.

Thinking of each one of you and sending positive healthy thoughts!

-Dr. Edgerly and Staff
