We're happy to announce that Jordan Creek Pediatric Dentistry is reopening on Monday, May 18 for patient care! Thank you so much for your support during this difficult time.

Please note that as a result of COVID-19, we have updated some of our daily procedures. You'll still receive the same great care from our dedicated team, however, to ensure the safety of our patients we've implemented the following changes:

• We are following social distancing guidelines as much as possible so you will notice a few chairs missing from our waiting room.

• Water fountains and coffee bar in our waiting room are not able to be used at this time, however, we still have bottled water for our guests.

• Our play area is closed until further notice.

• We are not allowing extra guests in our office at this time. Preferably, a patient with one parent/guardian. We ask that the parent/guardian wait in the car or as a last-resort our waiting room to conserve our protection equipment and maintain proper social distancing.

• Please bring your own mask to be used while you are in the office. They are required to enter our building.

• Each patient will be pre-screened prior to their appointment to check for fever (with a contact free thermometer) and symptoms of the coronavirus. If you currently have symptoms please call our office to reschedule your appointment.

• Our staff will be pre-screened each day prior to starting the work day. Their temperatures will be taken and recorded.

• To ensure the safety of our staff and patients, we had Dr. Rob, Dr. Beth, and all dental assistants get certified mask fitting tests through MercyOne.

• The office may look different! Our state-of-the-art facility received some very important upgrades for everyone’s safety. New plexiglass barriers have been added to our front counters. We will meet all our patients in our entry vestibule for pre-screening and paperwork. Hand sanitizer will be plentiful and in numerous locations.

• We’ve upgraded our personal protection equipment to meet and exceed all safety measures mandatory for COVID-19. Not limited to gowns, facial shields and respirators.

• We have installed 3M True HEPA air filtration systems to help us maintain the highest air quality.

If you had an appointment scheduled between March 18th and May 15th, previously cancelled due to the COVID-19 shut down and you are ready to reschedule, please call our office at 515-222-1800 to make an appointment. We will also be reaching out over the next few weeks to get those appointments rescheduled.

Again, thank you so much for your support. We're happy to continue serving you, and can't wait to see your smile! 😃 We are excited to see everyone! Things might look a little different, we might look a little different, but rest assured you will be receiving the same incredible service you’ve come to expect.

Side note: Dr. Rob can still sing through all the new protection equipment- it’s really muffled and for some, not a bad thing! 😂

[05/12/20]   Dear Patients/Parents:

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
• You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office. We will be reaching out to reschedule any missed appointments when we return, as well.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Hello everyone!
I’m Cassie, a dental assistant trainee at Jordan Creek Pediatric Dentistry. Our lives have really been turned around and upside down for the past month! For me, the best thing to do is find ways to keep busy and a have positive attitude. Here is what I’ve been doing to keep myself busy!

I try to be outdoors as much as I can, at least when it’s not snowing!😒 Sometimes I go for a walk with my dog, Luna. Other times I enjoy playing with her in the backyard. We just celebrated Luna’s first birthday yesterday with a doggie cake, tons of treats, and she loved it! She is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and LOVES to swim so I was planning on taking her to some water but the snow kind of got in the way. Dogs are amazing at keeping spirits high especially in times like this, and I don’t know what I would do in quarantine without my best friend.🐶

I have a few projects I hope to finish with my car during quarantine. I plan to delete the chrome in the interior, getting it ceramic coated before we are back to work. Cruising around town has been something I’ve enjoyed during this time as well, cruising and listening to music can be pretty relaxing.🏎

On the rainy days or snowy days in this case, I like to read a good self help book. My favorite author for self help books is Jen Sincero. I’m reading her most recent book right now.📚 I’ve also been studying for my dental assisting test so I can become registered when we are able to go back to work. I’m very excited for that, I’ve really fell in love with this job.☺️

Then of course there is binge watching movies/shows. I watch a lot of The Grand Tour. 🇬🇧 I can’t find much I really like for TV shows so I’ve been starting to rewatch Psych which is an all-time favorite. Any recommendations would be much appreciated! I haven’t had a chance to watch a lot of new movies, only Disney’s new movie Onward. I’m not gonna lie, my eyes may have watered a bit.🙈 I am a sucker for anything Disney!🤩 If you haven’t seen it already you need to!

I hope everyone is keeping high spirits during this rough time. I know we are all ready to get back to normal life and get back to doing the jobs we love! I know I’m ready to get back and start cleaning all those sparkling chompers!🦷 I miss seeing all our patients and my amazing coworkers.🤗

Hey there!

My name is Katie and I am a dental assistant at Jordan Creek Pediatric Dentistry. It’s been about a month since I’ve been safely stuck at home. I truly can’t wait to get back to work with the kiddos, but until then, I’ll tell you about some of the few things I’ve been doing to keep busy!
I have wiener dog named Hugo and he has really taken me under his wing. Hugo likes us to wake up around 6am for his morning potty. After he’s finished with that, we take a morning nap until it’s time for his walk. When Hugo has finished with his walk, I have started running. 🏃🏽‍♀️I don’t go very far but it’s more than I have done in the past. Once we have that out of the way, Hugo and I have begun watching Suits on Amazon Prime. We have also thrown in a few movies 🎬 here and there- anyone have any free movie suggestions?!?
Some days Hugo gets to have a guest appearance on Zoom meetings with my co-workers and family. Most days we take a mid day nap, which I never knew existed! We’ve also been grilling with the nice weather we’ve been blessed with.
Although Hugo isn’t ready for me to go back to work, I am very excited to get back! I can’t wait to see the kiddos 👧🏼👦🏽 and their pearly whites!

I’ve also been setting up zoom meetings with the office every week!! (I miss my wonderful teammates and Dr. Rob and Dr. Beth !!)

[04/08/20]   Hello everyone,

As you may have heard last week, Governor Kim Reynolds extended the mandate on non-essential dental care to April 30.

On April 2, we received the following message from the Iowa Dental Association.

Today Governor Kim Reynolds extended the proclamation to suspend elective and nonessential dental procedures in Iowa unitl April 30. The ADA also updated its recommendation to keep dentist offices closed for all but urgent and emergency procedures until April 30 at the earliest.

We are continuing to work on sending text messages to cancel upcoming appointments during that time period and we will call to reschedule as we return to the office and are able to resume seeing patients for routine care. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Stay healthy, stay positive and stay home if you are able! 🏠

Hi everyone!
I'm Gabi, a dental assistant at JCPD! There have been many changes in the past 4 weeks but staying positive hasn’t been one of them for me! Here is a little insight of what I have been up to during this crazy time!😊

I decided to go and stay with my parents back home in Watkins. This has been some much needed family time that I have loved. We have also stayed connected as a staff via Zoom and I have been connecting with friends and family with FaceTime. Thank goodness for technology!

I have been staying pretty busy! Each day I start my day with coffee (of course) followed by a workout!🥊 My mom and I usually go on a walk to get some fresh air. We have a little creek near our house that I have been going to since I was a kid! I have definitely been taking advantage of the extra time on my hands by doing my favorite thing, napping😴

We have been very lucky to have some warm spring weather, so I have also spent sometime outside reading. I also just love laying in the sun and soaking it all up☀️ Although I am a very much retired basketball player, I have definitely tried to come out of retirement by shooting some hoops.🏀

My parents and I have been watching the series Royal Pains on Netflix! Although, we are getting close to the end and then I’m not sure what we are going to watch next. Suggestions??? Of course I also watched the new movie Onward on Disney+ and love it!

I can't wait to get back to the office and to cleaning all of those pearly whites🦷🤩 I sure do miss our patients and my co-workers!

Until we return... keep smiling and stay positive☺️✨
