Welcome to Poulsbo Kids & Family Dentistry where family takes care of family.
Your child's smile is our priority at Poulsbo Children's Dentistry. Our doctors are Board-certified pediatric specialists who offer both primary and specialty care for infants, children and adolescents, including those with special health care needs. Providing care since 2001, the practice serves the children of the Kitsap Peninsula including the cities of Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, Kingston, Poulsbo, Port Angeles, Sequim, Silverdale and Suquamish. Dr. Self and her experienced friendly team love children and are trained to help them overcome dental apprehension and gently work to develop a positive attitude about oral hygiene and dental visits. Our focus on compassion and safety combines with the latest technology in a child-friendly environment to ensure patients receive the highest quality service and exceptional care. We partner with parents on preventative care to build a relationship that will last a lifetime and ensure that each child has a happy and healthy smile.
We can't wait to see you all on Monday! We might look a little different but we're still the same smiling faces under our new PPE!
Tooth be told we miss all of you so much! We hope you are staying safe and have been enjoying some family time. We are looking forward to being able to resume all dental care starting June 1st! We can’t wait to see all of you and your beautiful smiles! If you had an appointment during the Covid-19 shutdown we will be calling you to reschedule. See you soon!😷🦷
Fruit Pizza: a snack loved by parents and kids alike! This healthy alternative to dessert is a fun project for the whole family. It is extremely versatile, so you can get creative with what you have around the house. Don't have pizza dough? Use graham crackers, slices of watermelon, or pita as a base!
All of the extra time inside can be exhausting. If you're running out of ideas for in-home activities, try this healthy, quick, and easy recipe with your kids. (Parents, we think you'll love it too!)
3 INGREDIENT ICE CREAM:
Blend together 1 banana (peeled, chopped, and frozen overnight), 2 Tbl of cocoa powder, and a splash of milk! The less liquid, the better. Keep in mind you may need to blend for a bit or take breaks to mix with a spoon. Blend until smooth!
+ Feel free to add a bit of maple syrup to sweeten your ice cream and top as you desire!
Send to someone you are missing due to social distancing!
Wishing you a wonderful week! #goodvibes #spreadlove #positivity
Now, more than ever, it's important to stay positive! #youvegotthis #smilemore #positivity
Be kind always.
We hit the pot o' gold with our lovely patients!! Happy #stpatricksday! #lucky #stpattysday
Poulsbo Kids & Family Dentistry has always put the safety of our patients and staff members first. After careful consideration we have made the decision to close our office for two weeks effective immediately. This was an unbelievably hard decision but we feel like now, more than ever, we need to do our part in the community with social distancing. With the rapid changes of COVID-19 in our community we have continued to carefully follow the CDC, WHO, ADA, AOA, AAPD, as well as other national health organizations. We will be reaching out to those who had a reserved appointment to reschedule. We want to thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. We will continue to send out updates to our families through our online newsletter. If you have any questions please contact the office for further information.

❄️It is a winter wonderland outside! We will be closed again today, January 15th to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. Any appointments will be rescheduled. Be careful out there!❄️
To eat, or not to eat? FRESH vs. DRIED fruit: When fruit is dried and water is removed, the sugars become concentrated, causing the fruit to be chewy and sticky. Although a healthy snack either way, we recommend eating fruit raw when possible. While dried fruit will stick to your teeth, fibers in fresh fruit naturally scrub away bacteria. #funfact #fruit #thisorthat
Good morning! While the main roads are looking good, our neighborhoods and side streets are very icy. We want to make sure our patients and staff are safe. Due to this we will be closed today, January 14th. We apologize for the inconvenience and will be calling to reschedule any appointments. Thank you. Stay safe and warm!
Fraying bristles can cause damage to gums and won't clean teeth as well. Replace your brush every 3 months, or sooner, if the bristles begin to fray. #funfact #themoreyouknow #tipoftheday
Wishing you a wonderful year filled with love and good health. Here's to 2020! #newyearseve #happynewyear

Happy Holidays! Wishing you and your family a day as bright and cheery as your smiles!
Bad breath usually stems from bad oral hygiene. Brushing is essential, but so is flossing! Floss every day to remove all the stinky plaque and bacteria from your teeth. #floss #smile
This year we mixed things up and instead of Gingerbread Houses we painted Nutcrackers! We had so much fun and now we need your help! Be sure to like and comment on your favorite one to be entered to win a holiday basket!❄️
To all of our patients, you bring us so much LIGHT and joy! What is your favorite fall scent? Leave it in the comments! #FallScents
#HappyHalloween! If your kids go trick-or-treating today, remind them to take extra care brushing and flossing to avoid cavities!
Happy Halloween from the Sanderson Sisters, Billy Butcherson and Binx. We hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween. Don’t forget to brush and floss after all that candy!🎃
It may not be Halloween yet but that doesn’t stop Dr. Self and our pediatric assistants from having some Halloween fun! They have been wearing costumes all week long!🧛🏼♂️🎃
These are a few of our favorite things!
We are so grateful for all of you! What are you grateful for?
How lucky are we that this gorgeous tree is just outside our open bay windows? If only we could get it to stay that color year round!🍁
The key to clean teeth is clean bristles. Replace your toothbrush every few months for the best results!
