[06/02/20]   Dear Maple Glen Dental Family,

We hope all of you are in good health, and are ready to return to normalcy. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and our routines have been disrupted one way or another. We have been patiently waiting, as you have, to see what the new normal will be.

As we learn more about the virus, we have been taking steps to get our office ready for your return. While many things have changed, one thing that has and will always remain the same is our commitment to your safety. We have always considered infection control a top priority for our practice and we will continue to meet and surpass regulations. One of these changes is the new arrival procedure that will be sent to you prior to your appointment.

Currently, we are still only seeing patients with emergencies. The Pennsylvania Department of Health, has not given us the green light to return to "routine dentistry" yet. This means, regular cleanings, and any other aerosol producing procedures (filling and crowns) have to be avoided if all possible. We hope within this week, new regulations will be established so we can put a timeline for our return.

For those of you who have upcoming scheduled appointments, we will notify you of a cancellation the week before. For those of you that have had your appointments postponed, we will contact you to reschedule them. We will be adding more hours to make sure everyone receives care in a timely manner when we return. Until then we hope you and your family remain healthy and well. Don't forget to keep on brushing and flossing until we see you again.

[03/31/20]   Due to ongoing precautions to Covid-19, we are still only seeing patients with TRUE dental emergencies.
Unfortunately, a crown out, a lost restoration, a badly needed cleaning are NOT true emergencies according to the ADA guidelines. We are only a phone call or email away to help you with any of those problems and how you can temporarily remedy them.

During these difficult times we are proud to err on the side of caution, with your and our well being.

We miss all of you as much as you miss us! Just keep smiling and taking care of your teeth, oral health and your overall health.

[03/18/20]   Dear Patients,

We want to let you know that effective Tuesday March 17th, Maple Glen Dental will only be open for true emergency procedures due to the COVID-19 virus. As of 3/16/2020, the American Dental Association recommended that dental offices within the United States postpone all elective procedures for the next 3 weeks. In order to do our part in the containment of this virus, we are taking these drastic steps.

If you have a dental emergency, please call the office at 215-646-4411, we will return your call promptly. You may also reach us via email [email protected] and visit our page for updates.

For patients already scheduled, we will contact you to reschedule when the office reopens.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Our patients are our first priority, and we want everyone to be safe and healthy.

Don’t miss out on our next full day CE at the Blue Bell Country Club!! It will be Exquisite!!! 06/19/2019

Ex-MLB star Lenny Dykstra spent 9 hours dumpster diving outside a Jersey Mike’s. Here’s why.

This does happen regularly!! He is lucky he found it! Best way to avoid it, is to turn your denture into an overdenture that is supported by 2-4 implants on each jaw. The denture snaps on those implants and you do not have to remove it while you eat. If you are interested come in for a free consultation to see if you are a candidate for it. The former Mets and Phillies star says he left his $80,000 dentures in a napkin at Jersey Mike's Subs in Linden and that workers put them in the garbage. 06/06/2019

Flossing, Brushing Your Teeth Could Help Prevent Alzheimer's Disease, Study Finds

One more good reason to floss daily! The bacteria that causes gum disease can move from the mouth to the brain.

Why Your Dentist Costs So Much

When I wrote a post expressing disbelief at dental fees, I got a lot of feedback, from patients annoyed with their dentists, and dentists annoyed with me. Here's what I learned about what makes dental costs so high.
