☀️ Happy Thursday! Baby Nicholas is all smiles and happy that he has four teeth now! 🦷 🦷🦷🦷

[07/04/20]   ❤️🤍💙Wishing you all a fun and safe Fourth of July! 💥🎉🇺🇸

🦷 Hello everyone! We had a soft opening and now have been up and running for the past 3 weeks. 🎉It has been wonderful seeing you all. We have worked tirelessly behind the scenes making sure we are doing what we need to be in order to make your visit with us the safest it possibly can be. I am excited to share with you what we have been up to!

My posted video got a little lengthy 😂 so here are some bullet points to summarize some of the new things we have implemented:

▪️We installed a commercial grade UV light treatment for our air conditioner and furnace. This purifies the air going through our AC and furnace and kills viruses, bacteria, etc.

▪️We installed an air purifier that acts like an air scrubber... it cleans the air moving through our ductwork before it gets recirculated.

▪️Before you arrive to your appointment you will receive a prescreen questionnaire sent to your phone.

▪️Upon arrival we will ask you more questions to screen you again. We also will take your temperature by using a touch free thermometer.

▪️All employees of 1101 Dental get temperatures and screened daily as well.

▪️All patients arriving to the clinic must be wearing a mask. All employees wear a mask at all times.

▪️Our front office has a plastic acrylic shield (aka “sneeze guard”) around the front desk.

▪️We are using higher than required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

▪️We have always done and continue to do OSHA and CDC hospital grade sterilization

▪️.... there are MANY more details in the video if you’d like to watch ... just wanted to give you a quick summary 😊

🦷Please be assured that we have collaborated, researched, and followed guidelines. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Our priority has always been and will continue to be your safety. Thank you Greater Grand Forks for being so supportive. We love the opportunity of serving you and can’t wait to see you at your next visit. ❤️
-Dr. Johnson & Dr. Sovak

We are requiring all patients to wear a mask into the office based on the CDC’s current recommendations.
Please see tips below on how to properly wear a mask.
Stay safe & healthy everyone! 😷💜

🎈Emily turned 8️⃣ yesterday and this year she asked to decorate her own cake...... “mom, I got this,” she said..... she told me that she learned how to do this from watching Molly Yeh on the Food Network (we never miss an episode!), hence, the sprinkles.

Since it was her birthday, she requested a pedicure & manicure at home, and dinner on the backyard play set... and we made it happen.🙂💜

🦷 Sunday, April 5, 2020 update: The ND Board of Dentistry has made a new recommendation for all dental offices in our state to be closed to all non emergency dental visits through April 20.

Because of this recommendation, if you have a scheduled appointment during this timeframe we will unfortunately be reaching out to reschedule your dental appointment. 🙁

Please know that we are still here for you in the event you have a dental emergency (broken tooth, toothache, abscess, infection). Reach out to us at (701)795-1101. I explain in this posted video details on how we’ve been helping patients. ❤️

We sure miss you all. I hope you are staying safe.

💖Please share below 👇 a picture that shows a joyful moment in your life. Let’s spread JOY during this time of uncertainty. It can be a picture of any event in your life, your pet, your family, a book you are reading, a meal you made that you felt proud of, the first day of school, etc. It can be of anything- as long as it brought you joy! 💜

I’ll go first: This picture was taken earlier this year right before Emily (age 7) and Steve left to attend the “Knight for a Princess” event (hosted by Grand Forks Park District). Emily was soooooo excited, and Steve was, too. The smiles on their faces before they left lit up the room. I waited up until they got home so I could hear all about it. Emily ran inside to find me the minute they arrived back and she was talking a million words a minute telling me all about her evening. When I look at this picture it brings me back to this night and I feel joy.
- Dr. Heather 💕

🦷❤️Hello everyone! Just wanted to give you an update for this upcoming week. We are still closed this upcoming week to all non emergency dental appointments. If you call during a time outside of this timeframe please leave us a message as we will be checking our voice mail periodically.

I explain the process in this video of how we will first evaluate your situation shall an urgent tooth problem arise during this time. We first will visit with you through a virtual Zoom meeting or we will talk to you on a phone call to evaluate your concern, and then we will discuss a plan from there so that you are being taken care of.

We miss you all! Stay safe. I will continue to give updates as I hear more. ❤️🦷

[03/15/20]   At 1101 Dental, we've been paying close attention to the current situation with coronavirus (COVID-19) and are taking extra measures to keep all areas of our practice safe and comfortable for our patients. Our patients and team's safety, health, and well-being are always our top priority. We've been monitoring updates, and we are fortunate to be able to continue caring for our patients as scheduled.

At 1101 Dental we have strict cleaning policies for the protection of both our patients are our team. We use new gloves and face masks for every patient interaction. We use hospital-grade disinfectants across the entire office, with extensive room cleaning after each patient to ensure a safe and clean environment. After each use, all dental instruments receive the highest level of medical sterilization available. These processes have always been of utmost importance in our office and will continue to be the standards we uphold for our community.

At our office, we are implementing the following procedures and policies:

-We ask that if you or anyone in your family are showing ANY symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, fever) to please call our office to reschedule your appointment.

-We will be increasing the cleaning frequency of commonly used areas: bathrooms, waiting area, and our front desk.

-We will continue our environmental cleaning and disinfection/sterilization policy that strictly follows guidelines provided by the CDC and OSHA.

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Together we will get through this time!

Sincerely, Dr. Johnson, Dr. Sovak, and the 1101 Dental team

🤩Here’s a flashback video from 2013 (I had braces back then!) when I was exploring digital dentistry and deciding if I should take the leap. Well, I jumped all in, purchased this machine, and have never looked back! Now I can’t imagine 1101 Dental without this technology!😎

🌟 By the way: this machine allows us to make SAME day crowns to eliminate a second appointment for you!! That’s right, no temporary crowns which also means much more time efficient!! Also, it eliminates that ooey, gooey impression material.... instead that wand is taking multiple pictures of your teeth, which is why it’s called a “digital impression”!!!! Cool stuff! ⭐️

⭐️That’s a wrap! ⭐️ This course felt extra special to me.... you see, this is Dr. Mansur Ahmad. He was one of my professors in dental school and is an Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist. (In otherwards, he knows and teaches everything dental X-rays!) So, back in 2006 he taught me how to read my very FIRST dental X-ray! 🦷 😀 (These were 2D xrays.)

Fast forward many years..... now 3D dental X-rays are here (aka conebeam CT) which are sometimes taken to help us dentists diagnose a particular condition. 3D xrays gives us more information than 2D xrays can. When I was in dental school, they didn’t teach us how to read 3D xrays because, well .... it wasn’t prevalent (it was in its very early stages!)!

Dentistry is ALwAYS changing and moving forward!! Love technology!!

Anyways, this course felt extra special to me 💕because I got to go back to my roots where my entire dental career started (University of Minnesota School of Dentistry) and, there was Dr. Mansur Ahmad.... still at the school.... teaching my course!!.... helping me and giving me pointers on how to better read a 3D X-ray!

Thank you, Dr. Mansur Ahmad!! 🦷😀

It felt nostalgic, so I just had to take a picture! 📷 ❤️

Always learning!! Over the next few days I am at the University of MN School of Dentistry attending a course on 3D dental technology. Always striving to stay up-to-date and bringing the best patient care to you!! #foreverstudent

🦷 This is a snapshot into my Mom Dentist Life: Tonight, as soon as my kiddos crawled into bed, I shot back to the office to work behind the scenes on a few smile designs. Didn’t want to stay too late after work today to miss out on my little Ben’s “Tonsil Party!” ... See, Ben is getting his tonsils out tomorrow morning and he requested a “Tonsil Party” to eat tacos 🌮.... so off to Mexican Village we went after work 😂 to make this happen! Lots of hats to balance during this busy season of life, but honestly wouldn’t have it any other way! 😍 [i love 🦷][😎]

👋 Hey everyone! We are excited to share that we are in the works of building in another dental treatment room! This means we will be better able to serve YOU!! Stay posted for more pics once it all comes together! ⭐️

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Say hello to our fabulous new hygienist, Monica! We LOVE adding new members to our team. Monica has been rocking it the last few weeks and fits in perfectly with the rest of our 1101 Dental family! 💜

Be sure to say hello the next time you’re in! 🤗
