We treat children through all the phases of dental development – preventive, restorative, sedation options, and orthodontics (for children & adults)
At NOVA Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, our goal is to help make your child’s dental care as easy, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. Dr. Valerie Woo, Dr. Courtney Ullrich, and Dr. Courtney Marzban have created a pleasant, family-oriented environment where you are encouraged to be a part of our dental health team, and work with us to protect the health of your child.
Our orthodontic patients in active treatment should have received an email last night with a link to an outline that includes guidelines for patients in treatment and our plan of action moving forward. In case the email got missed or went to a junk folder, here's a recap. We are here for you!
Here are some tips for managing orthodontic issues at home. We are here for you. If you are having a problem with your braces, please call the office. Dr. Courtney will walk you through the problem step-by-step until we get it resolved. Stay safe. Stay well. Stay home when you can.
Happy World Down Syndrome Day! Celebrate different, inclusion, and acceptance.
Spread awareness today by posting a photo of your crazy socks in the comments section.
Have an upcoming appointment that is postponed and now low on elastics? Out of elastics because your child is wearing them SO WELL because now they are at home😉? No problem. Dr. Courtney has a supply of all sizes of rubber bands at her house. She's happy to put them in the mail for you. Send us a FB message or email Dr. Courtney directly at [email protected] if you need more. We are also working out the details of virtual appointments to check in on our orthodontic patients in active treatment until we feel it is safe to return to regularly scheduled office visits. We are still here for you. Stay safe. Stay home when possible.
Let's also not forget the retail workers who are risking their health and going above and beyond in these difficult times.
We would not have the needed supplies for ourselves and our families without their help.
We appreciate you, please stay vigilant and safe!
🍀 May you find your rainbow and pot of gold this St. Patrick's Day! 🍀🌈
Don't let the leprechaun trick you, though.
NOTICE OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE
To our patients, families, team, and community who we love dearly,
As we navigate through this time of rapid change and uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 virus, our top priority is the health and well-being of each and every one of you. In this unprecedented time, we are deeply committed to keeping everyone safe.
There have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 here at our practice. However, in light of the rapid evolution of the coronavirus pandemic, and out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to close our practice for the next two weeks, starting TUESDAY, MARCH 17TH THROUGH FRIDAY, MARCH 27TH.
We believe that this closure will allow us to more effectively evaluate this dynamic situation and assist in the CDC’s guideline of social distancing. In addition, the Virginia Dental Association is now strongly urging dental practices to close in an effort to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. If you have an appointment scheduled with us during this time period, our office will be in touch to help reschedule your appointment.
There WILL be a doctor on-call in the event of a dental or orthodontic emergency. Should you require emergency care, please call our office as you normally would and one of our doctors will get in touch with you.
We did not make this decision lightly. A great deal of care, research, and planning guided our decision. We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and determine on a weekly basis when it is appropriate and safe for us to return to our normal business hours.
As Maya Angelou once said – “Every storm runs out of rain.” Please continue to practice good hygiene and please consider staying home to do your part to reduce the spread of this virus and help flatten the curve.
We send out our love and well wishes for everyone to stay healthy and strong. We will get through this together, as a community.
With hope and optimism,
NOVA Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics
To our NOVA Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics Family:
As we follow the impact of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to outline the measures we are taking to enhance the health and safety protocols we have practiced for the past 14 years to protect everyone in and around our practice. Your safety and the safety of our team is our primary concern.
Until further notice, please respect and adhere to the following enhanced health and safety protocols:
*Following the published guidelines to help stop unintended spread of COVID-19 we are closing off our reception area to non-patients and non-essential family members.
*To minimize the number of people in our office, we respectfully request that you do not bring siblings, friends, or relatives to your family member’s appointment.
*When you arrive, please call our office and wait in your car. When we are ready for you, we will call you so you can immediately be taken into our treatment area.
*When parents/guardians are accompanying children, we request that only one parent, rather than both, attend with your child.
With regard to scheduling, rescheduling, or cancelling appointments:
*Our team has been working together to lighten the schedule. The reduction in appointments will help us not only keep the reception area well sanitized, but also help avoid crowds and abide by social distancing recommendations. It will also allow us to conserve our hard-to-source supplies including masks, hand sanitizer, and gloves.
*Please respect our policy of “by appointment only”. We will not be accepting “walk-in” patients at this time.
*For our orthodontic patients, we will be reaching out to some patients who may be able to have remote consultations or follow up appointments to further decrease the number of people in the office.
*If you or any family member have a fever or even mild flu-like symptoms, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE OFFICE. Call us and we will gladly accommodate a new treatment date.
*If, in the last 14 days, you have traveled outside the United States please call the office to reschedule your appointment until after you have at least 14 symptom free days.
As a reminder, unlike many public environments, our clinic remains a very safe space to continue to administer care. We are constantly disinfecting our facility and equipment. All team members are taking all universal precautions recommended by the CDC to keep a clean and safe environment.
In addition to our standard levels of sterilization and disinfection, our team is disinfecting common areas throughout the day including reception area chairs, front desk, and brushing stations, and all high-touch points.
Thank you for your understanding and adherence to these health and safety protocols. To protect your families and ours, we will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and follow local, state and federal guidelines. We are taking this day by day and will make updates and changes as needed.
