We’re a family-owned practice dedicated to providing you and your family with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. As sibling dental specialists, our commitment begins with providing honest, caring treatment that is handcrafted just for you!
Operating as usual
“My new patient appointment with Dr. Alexander was perfect. She and the staff were very pleasant and spent time getting to know me as a person, not as another appointment. I felt very much at home there and scheduled my next appointment in 6 months. Dr. Alexander is very competent, spent time explaining my X-ray results and her plan of treatment. Overall I would rate them a 10 out of 10. I wish them lots of success.”
Thank you so much, Douglas! 🙏🏼 And thank you to the more than 150 patients who have kindly taken the time to leave a 5-star review about your experience with us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Congratulations to Bella and Ryan for a cavity-free visit! 🥳🙌🏼
This is what it looks like when the assistant becomes the patient. 😁
Our Superwoman dental assistant, Diana, just got her new Invisalign aligners delivered last night! We are all super excited to see her new smile in a few months. Even if you can’t see her aligners behind her mask, next time you’re in the office feel free to ask Diana how her Invisalign experience is going!
We had so much fun in the office with Laura yesterday! She is the Powerhouse Supermom behind The Loudoun Moms Facebook group, which has been a huge treasure trove of information for Dr. Alexander and countless other moms in Loudoun County.
Check out this awesome review she wrote about her experience with us! Thank you so much, Laura! ❤️
I’ve been putting off my dental 🦷 cleaning because of covid. Today I decided to try Loudoun Mom Lynn Alexander’s dental practice in Ashburn @luxdentalcenterva. I was blown away by how nice and calming their office is. I felt like I was at a spa instead of the dentist office. •
They had many extras that made the experience comforting from blankets to a tv to watch while your getting your teeth cleaned. Their Covid protocols were top notch I felt very comfortable with being there. Lynn and her staff were very welcoming and took time to explain my x-rays in detail. At no point did I feel rushed or like a number. If you are looking for a new dentist Lynn and her staff at Lux Dental should be at the top of your list. #luxdental #loudounmoms #theloudounmoms @ Lux Dental Center
“The office is immaculate! The staff is professional and courteous. Dr. Alexander simply could not be more compassionate and kind. She explains everything and offers options for treatment. I’m a difficult case and I feel confident in her care.”
Thank you so much, Janis! 🙏🏼 And thank you to the more than 100 patients who have kindly taken the time to leave a 5-star review about your experience with us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Happy birthday to Ashton, our patient and insurance coordinator extraordinaire! 🥳
We are so grateful and lucky to have you here as part of the Lux Dental Center family! 🥰 Thank you for all that you do for our patients and team!
And a special thank you to Kristin's Kreations for making some delicious red velvet cupcakes!
Happy Friday! One of our patients had a baby girl recently, and sent us this photo of her beautiful little lady in a Lux Dental Center onesie! 🥰
Our entire office is swooning over that absolutely adorable smile! 🤩
“Holy cow! These people are amazing. My whole life I've loathed the dentist but these professionals made me into a believer! They were so helpful and so generous with their time (staying late, just for me). I've never had a good experience at a dentist, but with Lux I had a great one! Well done! Ten stars, if I could.”
Thank you so much, Trey! 🙏🏼 And thank you to the more than 100 patients who have kindly taken the time to leave a 5-star review about your experience with us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our sweet new patient, Evelynn, did absolutely amazing at her appointment with Dr. Jason last week! She was nervous at first due to a bad previous experience, but she left with a big smile on her face and asked if she could come back to see us again the very next day!
Sometimes we wish we could hang out with our patients more than every six months, too! 😁 Great job, Evelynn! 🥳
The Lux Dental Center family wishes everyone a very fun and safe 4th of July! 🥳 We hope you all enjoy this time with your family!
Here are some toothbrushing tips from Dr. Alexander’s 2-year old son, Camden! He loves brushing all of his friends’ teeth every single night. 😁
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandpas, and father figures out there! 🥳
Here are some flashbacks of Dr. Alexander and Dr. Kiangsoontra’s dad with them as kids, and 30+ years later with Dr. A’s son, Camden! Other than a few extra gray hairs and wrinkles, he clearly still gives the best piggyback rides ever! Everything these sibling dentists know about compassion, empathy, and kindness is from this incredibly hardworking and ever present dad right here.
We hope you all have an amazing Father’s Day! 🥰
Check out the graduation parade Dr. Alexander’s awesome neighbors pulled off yesterday with a street full of 2020 graduates! 🎉
You can hear Dr. Alexander’s son, Camden, beep beeping along in the background. 😁
Caps off to summer! We hope everyone has an amazing and safe summer. Congratulations again to the graduates of the Class of 2020! 🥳
Did you know that, once upon a time, Dr. Alexander had a career in academia?
On this day, exactly four years ago, Dr. Alexander was chosen to be the Reader of Graduates’ Names at the graduation ceremony of her beloved dental students of the University of California, San Francisco’s School of Dentistry Class of 2016.
We know Covid-19 has upturned so many lives in so little time, and this year’s graduates are no different, whether they’re kindergartners or post-doctoral graduates. As they all get ready to take the next big step in their academic careers, Lux Dental Center would like to extend a very loud and happy CONGRATULATIONS to all of this year’s graduates! 🥳🎉
You’ve got this! ❤️
Our newest patient, Roslyn, joined the Lux No Cavity Club today! 🥳 She was so happy, she jumped for joy and we caught this absolutely adorable picture of her looking like a ballerina on her tippy toes! 😁🩰
Exactly one year ago, we fulfilled one of our personal dreams and opened the doors of our start-up dental office to serve the local Ashburn and surrounding Loudoun County community.
We envisioned a warm and inviting dental home for friends and neighbors, where families in our community could feel relaxed and at ease once they walked in. We were committed to stripping away the negative stigma most people associate with the dentist, one that is usually filled with anxiety, doubt, and fear of judgement. We also didn’t want our patients to feel like a number when they walked in; we always wanted them to feel heard. Most importantly, we wanted to create trusting relationships and friendships. We are so happy and incredibly grateful to say this past year has given us all of that, and so much more.
Now, one year later we are preparing to re-open our doors again following the Covid-19 closure. To celebrate the one-year anniversary of our small family business, we would like to share this article from two months ago, when Lux Dental Center was featured in local Front Porch Living Magazine. We also wanted to share some photos from a year ago, when we were carefully putting much thought and effort into every detail of our humble little office.
We will be posting extensive updates about our coordinated re-opening very soon. We can’t wait to see all of our beloved patients! We have truly missed each and every one of you. We hope everyone is doing well, and staying safe and healthy! ❤️
All the best,
Dr. Alexander and Dr. Kiangsoontra
“I can imagine no heroism greater than motherhood.” — Lance Conrad
A very Happy Mother’s Day to all the Supermoms out there! Here are some special pre-pandemic moments of Dr. Alexander and her son when they visited family in New England last Fall. We hope you are all enjoying this beautiful day with the mothers in your life!
Despite these incredibly uncertain times, we’re here for our patients...even on a Sunday! Access to appropriate PPE (and ensuring PPE is available for our frontline healthcare workers) has made it challenging to provide care during pandemic times, and we have been limiting in-office care to true dental emergencies, such as severe swelling and pain, uncontrollable bleeding, and dental trauma/injuries. Most of our other dental care has been done virtually via teledentistry, so that we’re able to still provide the same advice and reassurance that we always strive to give our patients.
The safety of our patients and staff is always our utmost highest priority, and pandemic times are no different. Next time you come in to our office, you might notice strict sterilization and disinfection protocols for both our staff and patients, not to mention our new uniform of PPE. We thank you for being patient with us as we carefully take these extra steps to ensure the safety of our patients.
Although we might look different all suited up with these extra layers of PPE, we promise we’re still smiling underneath and are still providing our patients with the same level of top-notch and personalized care! 😁 Most importantly, pandemic times or not, we are here for you, so please don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us via phone, private message, or email. We are here for you, and most importantly, we are all in this together! 😊
In honor of National Prosthodontics Awareness Week (not to mention #ThrowbackThursday), here are some old photos we pulled out of the archives of Dr. Alexander and Dr. Kiangsoontra during their three-year prosthodontic residency at the University of Minnesota!
These additional years of intensely rigorous clinical and didactic training beyond dental school is what makes prosthodontists - and all dental specialists - stand apart in a league of their own.

It’s National Prosthodontics Awareness Week! 🎉 Did you know that, in addition to being general dentists, Dr. Alexander and Dr. Kiangsoontra are among the 2% of dentists in the country who are also prosthodontists?
This makes them a rare breed of dentist who is specially trained to tackle a wide variety of complex and challenging dental issues!

To All of Our Valued Patients:
With the current trajectory of the coronavirus pandemic, we regret to inform you that starting tomorrow, March 16th, we will be closing our office until further notice and limiting appointments to true dental emergencies only. Once it is safe to resume normal operations, we will contact you to reschedule any appointments. If you have any concerns or need any dental advice, we are always here for you. Please don’t hesitate to reach either Dr. Alexander or Dr. Kiangsoontra by phone during our regular office hours, email, or Facebook. We will also be offering teledentistry via Skype if patients have urgent questions. We will follow the developments on a weekly basis and will keep our scheduled patients updated.
This decision was not made lightly, but we believe it is necessary to protect our patients and staff after reading the updated recommendations from the CDC, OSHA, and various academics studying the evidence coming from other regions where the outbreak has already occurred. In addition, our own Virginia Dental Association just announced that they recommend dental offices to postpone non-emergent dental treatment for 2 weeks.
Even if rigorous screening is done beforehand, many people infected with COVID-19 might not be aware that they are infected as they do not present with normal cold/flu symptoms. Dental procedures generate a large quantity of droplets and aerosols, and the latest evidence is showing that personal protective equipment that is standard in dentistry may not be effective enough to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to dental personnel.
We are choosing to close our office out of an abundance of caution to keep our patients, staff, and community safe; we also feel a social responsibility to do everything we can to help flatten the curve. We apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your understanding.
Please stay healthy and safe. We will all get through this together.
P.S. Don’t forget to brush and floss!
All the best,
Lux Dental Center Family
To All of Our Valued Patients:
Due to the recent Coronavirus concern, some have enquired how we sanitize our office. I want to assure everyone we strictly follow all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) universal precautions. All dental rooms are wiped down fully on all surfaces between every single patient with disinfecting wipes that kill all viruses, including the Coronavirus. Plastic barriers are placed where appropriate, and all instruments are thoroughly sterilized in an autoclave. I would like to stress and assure you that these are practices that we implement every single day and with every single patient, regardless of whether there is a global pandemic or not.
The waiting area and bathrooms are wiped down with disinfectant wipes throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is available at our front desk and all patients are asked to use it as soon as they check in to our office. All staff thoroughly wash their hands between every single patient with antibacterial soap. You can be rest assured we are following all the appropriate OSHA universal precautions regarding cleanliness and disinfection of our entire office and dental instruments.
Per CDC’s recommended guidelines, we do ask that if you are ill and experiencing respiratory symptoms (coughing, fever, runny nose, and/or sneezing), to please reschedule your appointment and follow your primary care provider’s orders. We are also taking measures to screen patients at check-in; if you have travelled internationally in the last two weeks or are exhibiting any of the aforementioned respiratory symptoms, then we will ask you to reschedule your appointment. Please keep us updated of any diagnosis you have so we can protect our staff and other patients. We have many older patients and patients with underlying medical conditions, and we do not want to put them or any of our patients at risk.
We plan on staying open to serve you unless mandated otherwise. Thank you for understanding, and we assure you that your safety is our absolute highest priority. We are actively doing everything we can to make sure our office is safe for all, and that we can still serve you despite these uncertain times.
All the best,
Lux Dental Center Team
Congratulations to Chloe, the newest member of the Lux Dental Center No Cavity Club! 🥳. This was Chloe’s first dental appointment, but she did so amazingly well! Big Sister Alexis was also there to keep her company and cheer her on! 🥰
Dr. Alexander and Jeanette finished off the month of February with a quick visit to McNair Elementary School to visit their patient Jinie’s preschool classroom! The kids not only learned about brushing and flossing, but also helped do some beautiful fillings! Dr. A and Jeanette had so much fun with this class of Junior Dentists, and they can’t wait until next February to do another school tour through Northern Virginia!
“I can't say enough nice things about the staff at Lux Dental. Firstly, the new patient paperwork was done entirely online beforehand, which was really convenient. Then at the visit, I had to bring my five-year-old daughter, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They let her help with the x-rays, painting fluoride on my teeth, and she even got a prize from the treasure box at the end. She had a blast and can't wait for me to have another dentist visit. I plan to bring her there when she needs her next checkup because they were so good with her. The staff were so pleasant and friendly. Dr. Alexander explained everything thoroughly and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I loved that they offered me a blanket when I sat in the chair because I'm always cold. And I got a new patient present - choice of an electric toothbrush or whitening kit. I highly recommend this place!”
Thank you so much, Jennifer! 🙏🏼 And thank you to all of our patients who have kindly taken the time to leave a review about your experience with us!
Aaand here we are on our second stop of the Lux Dental Center School Tour for National Children’s Dental Health month! 👩🏻⚕️🦷This morning, we got to hang out with 150 students at Guidepost Montessori at Broadlands, and we had such a blast doing a bunch of flossing and brushing activities with them! Thank you so much for all the fun, guys! 🥳
President’s Day might mean a day off for the kids, but it also means Come to Work with Mom Day here at Lux Dental Center! Our dental assistant Jeanette brought her kindergartner son in, and he enjoyed a midday matinee in one of the treatment rooms! 🥰 He got the full Lux package of amenities with a neck pillow, dimmed lighting, a cozy blanket, and his favorite show! Not too bad for a day at work with Mom! 😁
