[05/18/20]   At Cann Family Dentistry, our main goal has always been to protect the health of our patients, our team, and our community.

Although we are in the Green phase of the Governor's and Department of Health's plan, we are still phasing into operations at our office. The team has decided to focus on the urgent care needs of our patients that were affected by the stay-at-home order, before we start into our full scale return to routine dentistry. This includes routine appointments, such as cleanings and exams. As always, we will follow the guidance of the CDC, PDA, and the State of Pennsylvania.

If you do have a dental emergency, are in pain, have a broken tooth, or an abscess, that you were waiting to talk to the team about at your routine appointment, we encourage you to call so we can see you. Here is how you can get a hold of us:

Text us or call us at 505-6449, you can also email us [email protected]

For all scheduled appointments cancelled during this time, we will contact you as soon as the office returns to routine procedures.

This is an unprecedented time for our community and dental office. The situation is ever-changing and your continued flexibility and loyalty are greatly appreciated. It is our honor and privilege to be trusted with your dental needs and friendship. We look forward to seeing you very soon!

[03/24/20]   Update effective immediately:

At Cann Family Dentistry, our main goal has always been to protect the health of our patients, our team, and our community. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor has ordered a statewide shutdown of all non-life sustaining businesses. Dental offices are considered life sustaining businesses, but person-to-person contact is permitted only for dental emergencies considered life-threatening. This will be in effect until we receive further notification from the CDC, guidance from the American Dental Association, and the State of Pennsylvania.

If you have a dental emergency, are in pain, have a broken tooth, or an abscess, here is how you can get a hold of us:

Text Message us or call us at 505-6449, you can also email us [email protected]

For all scheduled appointments cancelled during this closure, we will contact you as soon as the office reopens to reschedule.

As health providers, we play a critical role in reducing the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Even when returning to a more normal schedule, there are additional precautions that we already have in place to ensure the safety of our patients and team.

This is an unprecedented time for our community and dental office. The situation is ever-changing and your continued flexibility and loyalty are greatly appreciated. From our entire team, we want to thank you for your support and understanding as we navigate through uncharted territory. It is our honor and privilege to be trusted with your dental needs and friendship. We look forward to seeing you very soon!

The team at Cann Family Dentistry

[03/16/20]   Due to the nature of the work we do and the transmission of this virus, we have decided to close the office until further notice. We feel this is in the best interest of our patients, friends, and family. We apologize for those affected by rescheduling your appointment, but thank you for your understanding.

If you are a patient of record and having a dental emergency, please call the office and you will be provided with the emergency number.

If your appointment is affected by this closure, someone from the office will be in contact with you in the upcoming days. We look forward to seeing you in the upcoming weeks.

Take care and stay healthy!

Don't Worry, Poythress Still Has All His Teeth

The big debate in Dr. Cann's office this week is when to switch the radio over to the Christmas station. Some can't get enough Jingle Bells and Dominic the Donkey, while others like the strict no-Christmas-music-until-Thanksgiving rule. This Kentucky basketball player was almost singing 'All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth' after last night's game.

The original Little Tikes based road legal, road going real Crazy Coupe toy car

This has absolutely nothing to do with dentistry, but it is awesome!

Actually, if anyone wins or builds a replica, we will pay you in toothbrushes for a spin around the block (there, now it is about dentistry).

Meet the company that wants to kill drill-and-fill

Dr. Cann is always looking for ways to make her patients' experience even more pain- and anxiety-free...this is definitely on her radar.

Or maybe we are all just day-dreaming on a Friday afternoon. Have a great weekend!

drbicuspid.com Dentistry may be one step closer to ending the drill-and-fill model. The U.K.-based company Reminova wants to naturally rebuild caries-damaged teeth and has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help bring its device to practices worldwide.

Choc full of goodness!

Great article for all you chocolate lovers! Dr. Cann the chocolate connoisseur may agree with the French dentists, but professionally she would add some rules to their advice.

A 12-year study of the snacking habits of 21,000 people showed that regularly indulging in chocolate can cut the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
