MAY 8, 2020 updates based on Governor Newsom and CALAOMS updates:
We will slowly begin seeing patients on a non urgent basis over the next 2 weeks. Patients with urgent needs (pain, swelling, infection, etc.) will be prioritized. Please see our written plan below:
SAFETY MEASURES FOR COVID-19
1.) Symptom Screening - We will be screening all patients by phone for symptoms or exposure and again with a written exposure questionnaire. Patients (or escorts) with symptoms or exposure will not be seen for a 14 day quarantine period.
2.) Temperature - All people will be screened for temperature upon entering the facility including patients, escorts, employees, vendors, and delivery personnel. Any person with a temperature above 100 will be asked to leave immediately.
3.) Mask Requirement - All people entering facility must wear masks at all times. Patients will be be instructed when to remove masks. All masks with vent ports must have coverage over vent/exhalation ports.
4.) Social distancing: All people must stay 6 feet away from each other, unless they are quarantined together. Please provide space for others. We would like to avoid or minimize use of the reception area. Please call or text 818-707-0357 upon arrival and we will let you know when to enter the practice so we may maximize social distancing (If you would like to opt-out of texting please let us know to update your opt-in).
WHAT ARE WE DOING AS INCREASED MEASURES?
Aside from patient procedures above, we are increasing our already high standards for infection control, which have always met or exceeded Cal/OSHA, OSHA, Dental Board Standards.
1.) We are wiping all common area surfaces hourly with medical grade disinfectants. When time permits, we are doing this after any person has passed through an area. As always, we are disinfecting all patient treatment areas between patients.
2.) We are wearing surgical masks at all times. We are also wearing N95 masks during all surgical interactions.
3.) We have placed multiple HEPA air filters with internal UV-C light to assist in both reducing particulate matter and airborne virus. HEPA filters on their own will not trap the virus with high efficiency, as the virus is 0.06 - 0.14 microns in size, while HEPA filters are 0.3 microns. Most virus will be caught in the filters due to static forces, but the UV-C light will help to eliminate most of any live virus that continues to pass through.
4.) Decreasing patient load - we are doing our best to decrease the number of patients in the office at any given time, which will facilitate social distancing.
5.) We are screening ourselves daily to ensure our staff is healthy and capable of providing a safe care experience for you.
Safety and Infection Control have always been our highest concern. If you have questions, please call or text us! We are happy to both serve your surgical needs and help you keep and feel safe!
As an essential service, we are open and seeing patients who are experiencing tooth pain. Please contact us at 818-707-0357 should you require our services.
We are on a shortened schedule as we are only treating patients in pain at this time in order to hopefully prevent unnecessary emergency room visits. We will continue to take temperatures on all patients and continue our increased cleaning procedures within the office. Prior to your visit, we will want to confirm that you do not have symptoms of COVID-19. Please call with any additional questions.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19
In recognition of ongoing news reports and the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus, we realize our patients have questions. As dedicated health care professionals, we want you to know that we remain as diligent as ever in protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff. Our practice strictly adheres to and exceeds the standards for infection control by wearing personal protective gear, using hospital-grade disinfectants, practicing the latest sterilization protocols, utilizing single-use disposable materials, and more. Every effort we have in place is to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. We want you to know that we are monitoring this situation very closely, and we will keep you updated regularly.
Symptoms of coronavirus are reported as flu-like, with varying degrees of severity. While we do not know everything about this virus to date, individuals who are elderly (65 years or older per government designation) and/or immunocompromised appear to be the most at risk of a severe infection.
Per the current CALAOMS (California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons) recommendations, we will be rescheduling all patients who are not scheduled on an urgent basis. We will be here and available for all patients experiencing pain or discomfort. In an effort to reduce social contact in the spread of COVID-19, we recommend holding off on any care that can be rescheduled for the weeks ahead.
We are putting in place many additional protocols in place:
We are minimizing the number of patients in the office to reduce social contact.
We are wiping all counters and handles/door k***s hourly.
If you arrive for an appointment, call or text us at our main number (818-707-0357) and we can let you know when we are ready to seat you to minimize or avoid any time in a reception room.
We thank you in advance and extend our gratitude for your understanding and cooperation. Together, we can help keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office, and one of our staff members will be more than happy to assist you.
Keeping our team sharp! Every two years we renew our Basic Life Support (BLS) credentialing for all staff. We also renewed our Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification for all surgical staff.
This amazing thank you gift from a wonderful patient is very much appreciated!

[11/12/18] Agoura Hills Oral Surgery will remain closed due to the fire and continued high winds through Tuesday, November 13th. The air quality index in the area remains at hazardous levels in the Agoura area and we remain on mandatory evacuation. We will assess the office on Wednesday to determine when it will be safe to return. We hope that everyone and their families stay safe during this period.

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the last teeth to develop and appear in your mouth. The worst thing to do is IGNORE them! Watch and learn why an annual exam is extremely important. #OMStip
