[05/16/21] We realize that all are very excited about the recent developments in the Governors announcement regarding the wearing of masks, but we would like to kindly remind you that as a healthcare facility, all patients are still required to wear masks upon entry into the Dental Office. If you happen to forget your mask, we will be happy to provide you with one. Thank you for continuing to help us follow the rules established by the State so we can continue to serve you and your oral health needs.
Lenawee County officials are urging residents to take advantage of multiple COVID-19 vaccination clinics being offered this week, including one special clinic planned for those 16 years of age and older this Saturday at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds. Those aged 16-18 are only eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine, and Lenawee County was allocated 1170 doses this week.
“We planned this clinic specifically for that age group,” explains Martin Marshall, Lenawee County Administrator. “We know that they can only receive the Pfizer vaccine and our supply of this type has not been as steady as the Moderna. We don’t know when we will receive our next allocation. We wanted to offer this clinic on Saturday when it would be convenient for both them and their families to get them vaccinated.”
The Fairgrounds will also host a Moderna clinic on Thursday. Many appointments remain available for both clinics. As more residents have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, County officials have noticed a decrease in demand for appointments.
“For the first time, we did not fill all our clinic appointments last week,” stated Craig Tanis, Lenawee County Emergency Management Coordinator. “Due to increased vaccine supply and a reduction in demand, we are eliminating the residency requirement. When receiving your vaccine, you will no longer have to show identification proving that you live or work in Lenawee County.
You can schedule your appointment online at LenaweeHealthDepartment.org or call our vaccine hotline at 517-264-4501.
“Please do not put off scheduling your COVID-19 vaccine,” stated Martha Hall, Lenawee County Health Officer. “With our recent increase in cases and hospitalizations, it is critical that we do everything we can to protect our community. With each dose of vaccine given, we are one step closer to beating this pandemic.”
These actions not only help keep you safe, but also protect those in your community. For more information on COVID-19, visit www.lenawee.mi.us.

It is with great joy that we congratulate Dr. Love on receiving his Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. This is an award based on commitment to continued education and understanding of current accepted techniques and beliefs of general dentistry. Although Dr. Love was suppose to receive this award in Las Vegas at the annual AGD Scientific Session, he will still be able to be able to be recognized in ceremony at a future meeting.
The AGD is a professional organization of over 40,000 general dentists from the US and Canada. To earn a Fellowship Award one must be a member of good standing for at least 3 years, have 500 hours of continuing education and pass a comprehensive 400- question written examination.
[06/01/20] We are open, and Happy to Welcome everyone back. Please note that to help comply with some new standards, appointments will be more spaced out at we will do our best to accommodate everyone as soon as we can!
During our recent shut-down, there has been a slight change at Love Family Dental.
One of our Hygienist, Ms. Marsha Paterson, has retired and gone into full-time Grandma status. It is with heavy hearts that we see her go, but wish her well as she gets to enjoy her growing family.
We are however, very happy to welcome Ms. Kristen Bauschka to our staff. Kristen is a graduate of U of M Hygiene and has plenty of experience. We are confident that Kristen will provide the same patient-centered care that we have come to build and you have come to expect at Love Family Dental.
Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment.
We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
• You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
Dr Love and Team
An entertaining update from an adoreable Spokespup.
"The best way to fight this, is to do it together. Regardless of your age or health, please - stay HOME - WASH your hands - CARE for your neighbors."
But can we PLEASE just focus on how cute Daphne is as a nurse for just a second?!?
Stay safe everyone.
On Friday, March 20, 2020, Governor Whitmer signed Executive Order 2020-17. That order suspends all elective, non-emergency dental treatment until the conclusion of the public health crisis caused by COVID-19. In order to comply with that order, we will be closed until further notice, when the order is lifted. We thank you for your patience and understanding through this time of uncertainty.
We will continue to take emergency phone calls and see patients as needed. If needed, please call the office.
Update on COVID-19!!
At Love Family Dental we are continuously monitoring the Michigan Dental Association, American Dental Association, Lenawee County Health Department, State of Michigan and Centers for Disease and Prevention for recommendations with patient care. Currently, operations are to continue normally. As of 3/15, there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lenawee county. In addition, our facility strictly follows infection control procedures recommended by the American Dental Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. However, if you have experienced cold or flu like symptoms or been in contact with anyone who has, please call to reschedule your appointment. We will do our best to reschedule you in a timely manner. We will update our patients if there are any changes. STAY HEALTHY EVERYONE!!!!!
Here is what the American Dental Association has to say....
"Infection control procedures are actions taken in health care settings to prevent the spread of disease. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommendations for dental office infection control. Your dentist cares about your safety and works hard to prevent the spread of infection. Before you enter the examining room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental light, drawer handles and countertops, have been cleaned and disinfected. Offices may cover some equipment with protective covers, which are replaced after each patient.
Non-disposable items like the dental tools are cleaned and sterilized between patients. Disposable dental tools and needles are never reused. Infection control precautions also require all dental staff involved in patient care to use appropriate protective equipment such as gloves, masks, gowns and eyewear when needed. After each patient, disposable gloves and masks are thrown away. Before seeing the next patient, everyone on the treatment team washes their hands and put on a new pair of gloves.
Your well-being is important to your dentist and dental staff. That’s why infection control procedures are in place at your dental office.
What about the new coronavirus?
With so many news stories, it’s understandable to be concerned about the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Please know that the precautions your dentist already takes every day to prevent the spread of infection in his or her practice also helps prevent the spread of COVID-19.
If you are ill with flu-like symptoms, you should reschedule your appointment.
If you or someone you are in close contact with have recently traveled to one of the countries with large outbreaks of COVID-19 (China, Italy, Iran, South Korea) or if you have been exposed to someone else who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or who was quarantined as a precaution, wait 14 days until you see your dentist to make sure you have not caught the coronavirus.
If you are healthy, there’s no need to cancel your regularly scheduled dental appointment.
It’s important to know that the majority of people infected with the coronavirus experience flu-like symptoms and then recover. Most people do not develop serious respiratory complications.
Those most at risk of becoming seriously ill are elderly people and those with underlying medical conditions such as diabetes and kidney disease, among others. Children, thus far, have been largely unaffected.
Here are a few things you can do on your own to help keep yourself and those around you healthy:
Wash your hands frequently, or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent ethyl alcohol.
Avoid touching your face, eyes or nose to reduce the spread of germs.
Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow. Infections like the coronavirus spread through the tiny droplets in coughs and sneezes.
Stay home if you feel sick. If you have flu-like symptoms or otherwise feel unwell, stay home and rest. Call your dentist to reschedule your appointment for a later date. This will reduce the risk of spreading your illness.
Visit the CDC’s website for the latest information on COVID-19."
Good things dogs don’t run the dental office!!

[08/08/18] It has come to our attention that Blue Cross Blue Shield has sent out letters informing patients that there has been a change in our relationship with BCBS. This letter is deceiving and we would like to reassure our patients that in fact, there has been no change in Dr. Love's agreement with BCBS and that patients can expect to have the same benefit and coverage that they have come to expect when receiving care in our office. Dr. Love has not altered his agreement and any changes would be a result of change in coverage from the administrator of the benefit. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Please help us welcome Margot Ann Love to the Love Family Dental family. Margot is the daughter of Dr. Love and his wife, Leslie. She was born at the end of June and both Leslie and Margot are doing very well!
